Blessing over my Adolescent Son
by Anna Abraham Gasaway
May you escape the bullets of school shooters.
May your gangly limbs become graceful
May you always keep your balance
May you find a place of peace and contentment.
May your eyelashes curl forever on that soft cheek
May your slow drip nag turn into persistence
to serve and to help the world.
May you escape the bullets of school shooters.
May you find love and light
May you find purpose.
May you look at situations from at least three perspectives
May you always be curious, and courageous, and connecting.
May you always bounce back from any illness,
you beautiful breastfed boy.
Please God! May you escape the bullets of school shooters.
